New Arecont Vision-developed feature will be added across its IP CCTV camera products – new and old; plus released three new products.

SurroundVideo Omni G3 IP CCTV camera

ArecontVision launched multi-sensor, multi-megapixel SurroundVideo® omnidirectional camera series. The SurroundVideo Omni G3 is the industry’s first camera in the multi-sensor product category that Arecont Vision pioneered that now offers no-touch, remote setup. SurroundVideo Omni G3 is the industry’s first camera in the multi-sensor product category that Arecont Vision pioneered that now offers no-touch, remote setup. 

The first SurroundVideo Omni camera was introduced in 2014, bringing omnidirectional coverage in place of a fixed 180o or 360o view. The Omni G1 series was the first to offer  4 sensors that can be positioned independently around a patented, 70+ placement-point magnetic track to cover virtually any angle or view. SurroundVideo Omni G2 followed in 2016 to offer additional ease of movement and faster setup with motorised, remote focus 3-axis gimbals.

The new SurroundVideo Omni G3 goes the final step, delivering no touch remote setup. The Omni G3 can be quickly installed on a wall, corner, ceiling, pole, emergency call box, or other structure. The camera is then connected to a single PoE (Power over Ethernet) IP network cable. The installer can then dismount from the ladder or lift, and connect to the camera’s integrated web page over the network for setup. 180o, 270o, or 360o preset views can be selected, or the installer can adjust and position each of the sensors remotely, including remote focus, zoom, and tilt.

New presets can also be saved, so that the view can be completely changed when needed.  For example, a stadium may have different viewing requirements for a sporting event versus a concert.  The user can select the appropriate preset, and the camera will move the sensors to that new perspective. The camera can then be returned to the original view just as easily.  This can all be done without requiring the time and cost of manually mounting a ladder or lift to remove and then replace the dome bubble after adjusting the aim of the 4 sensors, or shifting the entire camera.

All SurroundVideo Omni cameras feature four individual day/night mechanical IR cut filters for the highest image quality at any time of day. Select 12MP models offer Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) up to 100dB at full resolution for challenging or varied lighting conditions.

All SurroundVideo series cameras offer advanced streaming capabilities.  They are designed on the Arecont Vision highly efficient H.264 encoding platform to deliver high-quality video without straining the network. SurroundVideo Omni G3 adds support for SNAPstream™ (Smart Noise Adaptation and Processing) technology, bringing further reduced camera bandwidth consumption without impacting image quality.

The entire Made in USA SurroundVideo series is subjected to and certified by rigorous dust, water, and impact tests with strict manufacturing quality control. With IP66 and IK-10 ratings and an extended operating temperature range, SurroundVideo Omni G3 cameras are ideal for indoor, outdoor, and vandal-prone applications.

MicroBullet® family

And there is the new series of megapixel cameras, the MicroBullet® family. The MicroBullet is an extremely compact and affordable bullet-style camera, yet is loaded with advanced features developed by Arecont Vision. 

The tiny MicroBullet with its integrated adjustable 3-axis mount is a mere 6.8” (172.8mm) long and 2.8” (71.5mm) high. Available in 1080p or 3MP resolution, MicroBullet is ideal for low-profile indoor and outdoor surveillance use, featuring a die-cast aluminum, IK-10 impact resistant, and IP66 weather rated housing. All models offer rapid setup with a remote focus/zoom 2.8 – 8mm motorized lens.

SNAPstream™ (Smart Noise Adaptation and Processing) technology reduces camera bandwidth consumption in all MicroBullet models without impacting image quality. MicroBullet is ideal for applications with normal to challenging lighting conditions, regardless of time of day. It offers true day/night functionality, with a mechanical IR cut filter and integrated IR LED illuminators. Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) up to 100db at full resolution is available on select models for use in applications with challenging or varied lighting conditions.

Each MicroBullet camera offers remote focus capability to simplify set-up and significantly reduce installation time. Installers can simply install the camera on a wall, ceiling, or structure, then adjust the integrated 3-axis mount to point the sensor at the area to be covered. Once off the lift or ladder, the installer can select “Short Range Focus” or “Full Range Focus” for rapid setup from their computer, or they can adjust the focus and zoom as required by the scene.

Arecont Vision cameras are designed to run an in-house developed, Massively Parallel Image Processing Architecture (MPIPA) on a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) integrated circuit. All core features and technologies are developed by Arecont Vision, allowing installed cameras to be upgraded with new capabilities, thereby extending the useful life of the device.

By employing the unique MPIPA architecture, Arecont Vision cameras do not require the use of common imbedded operating systems. This approach eliminates the risk of a cyber hacker repurposing an Arecont Vision camera for use in Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS), network penetration, ransomware, or other increasingly common cyberattacks.

In addition, the company announced the future expansion of the compact MicroDome® G2 ultra-low profile camera family with the unveiling of new models with built-in infrared (IR) illumination.

MicroDome G2 with IR offers a choice of 1.2MP, 1080p, 3MP, or 5MP resolution models. Each camera is available with lens options ranging from 2.1 to 16mm, supporting the widest possible application requirements. SNAPstream™ (Smart Noise Adaptation and Processing) technology reduces camera bandwidth consumption in all MicroDome G2 with IR models without impacting image quality.

Each MicroDome G2 with IR camera offers remote focus capability to simplify set-up and significantly reduce installation time. The Installer can mount the camera on or in a wall, ceiling, or structure, then point the sensor at the area to be covered before screwing down the bubble. Once off the lift or ladder, the installer can select “Short Range Focus” or “Full Range Focus” from the camera webpage for rapid setup over the network, or they can fine-tune the focus as required by the scene.

For applications with strong backlighting, reflections from wet flooring, streets or puddles, or contrast due to fog, mist, or glare, optional Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) equipped 1080p and 3MP models are also available. Built-in CorridorView™ technology provides better coverage of hallways, corridors, and other narrow spaces without wasting pixels on unchanging areas.

The MicroDome G2 with IR camera features Arecont Vision’s installer-friendly flush or in-ceiling mount enclosures to simplify installation. The rugged, tamper-resistant, die-cast aluminum housing features a polycarbonate dome bubble that is both IK-10 impact-resistant and IP66 weatherproof rated. The MicroDome G2 with IR is ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) Series S compliant.

 

Expanded availability of SNAPstream™

Smart Noise Adaptation and Processing technology for 140 of the company’s megapixel camera models. SNAPstream greatly reduces camera bandwidth requirements without impacting image quality, delivering new benefits to Arecont Vision customers.

This unique field upgrade capability is made possible by the Arecont Vision developed Massively Parallel Image Processing (MPIP) architecture. This advanced architecture runs on the Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) integrated circuit at the core of every Arecont Vision camera. The MPIP architecture also eliminates the risk of a cyber hacker maliciously repurposing an Arecont Vision camera for use in cyber attacks.

SNAPstream technology was introduced in 2016 for several of the newest Arecont Vision camera families, including all MegaDome® 4K, MegaVideo® Flex, and MicroDome® Duo models. More than 100 additional Arecont Vision camera models now support this advanced bandwidth-reducing technology, including members of the MegaBall®, MegaBall G2, MegaDome®, MegaDome 2, MegaVideo® Compact, MegaView® 2, MicroDome®, and MicroDome G2 series.

Camera models from each of these families manufactured after March 5, 2017, already include the new firmware that supports SNAPstream and other enhancements. Many previously-built Arecont Vision camera models from the list of supported series can also be updated (model dependent). An upcoming update later in 2017 will add SNAPstream support to most remaining cameras from the Arecont Vision product line.
